Feminine Fancy, I'll Help You Forget Her, Dottie West Sings Sacred B, Forever Yours, Suffer Time

The Sound of Country Music is a 1967 budget album released on RCA Camden Records by country singer Dottie West. Although most budget albums consist of previously released material, in the mid-1960s RCA experimented with releasing a few country albums of new material by several of the label's rising stars perhaps to build their fan following. This album is unique in that Dottie West is accompanied by her road band The Heartaches rather than studio musicians. The album was produced by Chet Atkins and Ethel Gabriel and consists of covers of country music classics. This was West's first recording of Buck Owens' song "Together Again"; she would later record it in 1971 and then again in 1979 as a duet with Kenny Rogers. The latter recording was eventually released as a single record in 1983.
