The Secret Footballer

The Secret Footballer is the pseudonym of an alleged Premier League footballer who contributes articles to The Guardian newspaper and has written four books, I Am The Secret Footballer, Tales From The Secret Footballer, The Secret Footballer's Guide to the Modern Game and The Secret Footballer: Access All Areas.

There is no independent evidence supporting the author's claims to have played professional football. A blog exists that attempts to piece together "clues" from various columns in an attempt to uncover the footballer's identity. The Secret Footballer claims to be English, married and to have played for at least two Premiership clubs.

There are people who claim the stories in The Secret Footballer series to be collected from multiple players, if they indeed come from professional PL players after all, since they contain too many contradictions with each other.
