The Sauce is a daily live interactive show that aired on the music network Fuse. It was hosted by Steve Smith and Jared Cotter and aired weekdays at 6pm EST/3pm PST and premiered on April 2, 2007 and ended on May 22, 2008.

Contents

The show included music, movies, entertainment, technology, apparel, and sports. The host and guests interacted with the home audience daily by way of live webcam, instant messaging, instant polls via the web, and mobile devices.

The show

The hour-long live show first aired April 2, 2007, and was hosted by Steven Smith of Steven's Untitled Rock Show and Jared Cotter. The set-up of the show was an entertainment talk show based in music. The Sauce began with a segment called "Things you missed" which covered topical news of the day. Most of the topics covered involve music, movies and television. Other segments included "Comic Book Club", "Reel Numbers", "Show Us Your Hits", "Weathering The Tour", and "New Releases" in DVD, video games and music. Guests featured on the show included Hilary Swank, 50 Cent, Debbie Harry, Slash, Eva Mendes, Billy Bob Thornton, The Used, Paramore, Justin Long, Kevin Bacon, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, and Jessica Alba. The Sauce also featured live performances from bands and artists such as; Kelly Clarkson, Wyclef Jean, Fall Out Boy, OneRepublic, Evanescence, Maroon 5, Jimmy Eat World, Chevelle, and Korn.

At the official website, people could vote in polls during commercial breaks. They could chat online with the guests and hosts, aand choose videos and artists. The live audiences were chosen from those who e-mailed the website.

The show would end with the next day's upcoming topics, and then a music video.

On May 22, 2008, the hosts announced that the show was at its end. It included a special edition of "Things You Missed" called "Things We'll Miss". Smith and Cotter would not be leaving the network, they assured. In a tribute to his hometown Pittsburgh head writer Joel Solomon waved a terrible towel as they went off the air.
