The Rainbow Tulip

The Rainbow Tulip is an historical fiction children's picture book by Pat Mora based on the author's mother's experiences growing up as an immigrant child in El Paso, Texas.

The main character, Estelita, struggles with being comfortable with her Hispanic heritage yet fitting in with the children from mainstream culture at her school. Estelita is bilingual while her parents speak only Spanish. Estelita's thoughts and feelings are in the forefront of this story as she finds comfort with who she is.
