The Post was a national daily newspaper in Pakistan, owned by Khabrain Group of newspapers. Attempting to rival the existing newspapers, it had brought a new vision into the modern journalism. It was founded on August 14, 2005 by late Ednan Shahid. The paper had its resident offices at Islamabad and Karachi. The Post headquarters was based in Lahore under the ownership of Zia Shahid who also owns Khabrain Group of newspapers.

Under the leadership of late Ednan Shahid the newspaper enjoyed a wide acceptance because of its content and bold policy.

There were more than 250 journalists working for The Post newspaper. The last Editor of The Post was Humaira Awais Shahid wife of late Editor Ednan Shahid. She was trying to give it a global perspective, when in November 2010, the management of Khabrain Group of Publications stopped the daily publication of The Post. The management had not been able to pay salaries to the employees for months before the closure. [1]
