The People Next Door was a 1968 television play as part of the CBS Playhouse series. A drama about a family dealing with the drug addiction of their daughter, it was written by J. P. Miller and won three Emmy awards for camerawork, best director, and best writer; as well as a nomination for Best Dramatic Program.
The teleplay was later refilmed in 1970 as The People Next Door, with many of the actors from the teleplay reprising their roles for the theatrical release.
