The Notebook (Hungarian: ) is a 2013 Hungarian drama film directed by Janos Szasz. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The film was selected as the Hungarian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards, making the January shortlist.
In a village on the Hungarian border, two young brothers grow up during war time with their cruel grandmother and must learn every trick of evil to survive in the absurd world of adults.
