The Mysterious Package Company is an organization that describes itself as "an organization that tells stories using the postal service as our medium." The stories, many of which are inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft, are told via packages that contain items that relate to the story. The project was launched in 2012 and in June 2014 the Mysterious Package Company launched a successful Kickstarter campaign that was coordinated by Jason Kapalka, one of the founders of PopCap. The project is available by membership only and successful applicants can purchase packages that will be sent to themselves or a recipient of their choice.

Geek.com gave the Mysterious Package Company a favorable review, stating that it was "an incredible service if you want to get a strange gift for any lovers of esoterica you know."
