Plot

Mackenzie "Mickey" Molng, an irresponsible woman, relocates from Warwick, Rhode Island to Greenwich, Connecticut. She becomes the parental guardian for her niece and nephews after her estranged and wealthy sister Pamela "Poodle" Pemberton and her husband Christopher were arrested by the FBI for fraud and tax evasion. After a day watching the three children (Sabrina, Chip, and Ben), Mickey gets a call from Poodle telling her that she and Christopher are fleeing the country. As a result, Mickey struggles to raise the three kids with help from her pseudo-boyfriend Jimmy and the housekeeper Alba, while putting up with their neighbor Liz.

The site's critical consensus reads, "Kaitlin Olson's considerable charm isn't enough to keep the intermittently funny The Mick from falling prey to conventional storylines and hard-to-root-for characters." On Metacritic, the season has a score of 50 out of 100, based on 27 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".
