The Message is a contemporary Christian pop & rock radio channel, heard on Sirius XM Radio 63 and Dish Network channel 6063 (formerly 6066) until Sirius XM's Watercolors took the spot on May 4. Until February 9, 2010, the programming was aired on DirecTV channel 826 when the satellite company went in favor of using Sonic Tap by DMX. As of Winter 2014, SiriusXM reported more than 27 million subscribers.

Music

The Message plays Christian pop and rock hits from the 1980s through today. Newsboys, MercyMe, Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Natalie Grant, Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Kutless, Third Day, and Switchfoot are just a few artists that can be found on this channel.

Saturday nights at 11pm Eastern, Kayla hosts "The Message: AMPED!", a 3 hour show devoted to hard Christian rock. Artists like Skillet, Underoath, Red, 12 Stones, and P.O.D. are played.

Awards

The Gospel Music Association (GMA) honored SiriusXM in October 2014 with its "Outstanding Mainstream Contribution to Gospel Music" Award. The satellite company's three faith-based channels, including The Message, programmed by Al Skop, were recognized for their impact on Christian Music and its audience.
