The Meaning of Hugo (Swedish: ) is a Swedish comedy film which premiered on Swedish TV on the 4th of June 2012. Behind the film are comedian Henrik Elmer (producer, writer and lead role) and film maker Bjorn Engstrom (producer, director, cinematographer and editor).

The film will have its USA premiere on the 8th Nov 2012 at The Los Angeles Comedy Festival.

Apart from Henrik, the cast of over sixty speaking parts includes Nathalie Soderqvist, Thomas Oredsson, Kryddan Peterson (from the internationally acclaimed satire show Helt Apropa), Ola Noren, Hakan Julander, Hasse Bronten, Anders Celin, Tobias Jacobsson, Yvonne Johnsson, Tobias Persson and several others from the Swedish stand-up comedy and entertainment circuit.

Swedish film about a man whose only purpose in life is to do strange things. If something isn't strange, he won't do it. One day he meets Helen, and falls in love. This puts him in a dilemma, since love isn't strange at all... Or is it? This film has everything... Loafs of bread, tooth brushes, keys, hats, a lawyer in a boat, some other people in another boat, a strangely painted cup, plastic animals in a train, real animals of various kinds, socks in the wild, the horizon, a big crazy fish (not real though), an incredible amount of whipped cream, a lamp post in love and some other stuff that you might have been waiting for.

Plot

Hugo (played by Henrik Elmer) sees no other point in life than to do strange things. One day he meets Helen (played by Nathalie Soderqvist) and falls in love. Will he have to give up his surreal way of life to be able to open up his heart?
