Plot

The first season followed Din Djarin, a Mandalorian bounty hunter in the outskirts of the galaxy. Din Djarin is on the run to protect ‘The Child’ (Grogu) even though he only has orders to retrieve The Child. The first season was acclaimed and there was wait, with bated breath, for the second season. The second season picks up right from where the first season left off. Pedro is steadfast in his mission of reuniting with his people and protecting The Child. The second seasons intertwines itself with Star Wars past history. The story goes a lot deeper than it did in season one. Season one was more about introducing new fans into the Star Wars franchise. The second season fleshes out a much more rooted story, with characters and elements that older fans would instantly recognize. Our protagonist, Din Djarin, is faced with a lot of truths that make him doubt everything he knows.

Review

The Mandalorian in a full armor

The Mandalorian was a welcome respite in a year when we had to hold our breath for many series and movies, that were delayed due to the pandemic. The tightly packed eight-episode trajectory was exhilarating in its own right, managing to even set up room for no less than three spin-offs! In spite of the new characters announced, season two remains beautifully focused on the relationship between the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda. The action scenes are stunning, with dazzling set-pieces. The few drawbacks to this season were its chunky dialogues and some narratorial detours. Overall, however, the season two is an improvement to the already well-done season one.
