The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (print: ISSN 0022-5223, online: ISSN 1097-685X) is a monthly peer-reviewed medical journal covering cardiology, general surgery, pulmonary medicine, and vascular disease published by Elsevier. It is an official journal of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery and The Western Thoracic Surgical Association. The journal was established in 1931 as the Journal of Thoracic Surgery. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2014 impact factor is 4.168, ranking it 12th out of 198 journals in the category "Surgery", 9th out of 57 journals in the category "Respiratory system", and 26th out of 123 journals in the category "Cardiac & cardiovascular systems".
