The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting ecotourism globally. Founded in 1990, the organization strongly contributes to the development of ecotourism while providing guidelines and standards, technical assistance, training, research and publications. TIES' global network of ecotourism professionals and travelers aim to use tourism as a viable tool for conservation, protection of bio-cultural diversity and sustainable community development. TIES has members in more than 180 countries.
