The Hague African Festival is an annual festival celebrated in the city of The Hague, the Netherlands. The festival was initiated by the African migrant organisation SANKOFA Foundation.

The festival focuses on the richness of African cultural heritage and contemporary developments in African cultures. There is a strong emphasis on programming a representative African music, concerning tradition and innovation. The festival is deliberately chosen to show the visitor 'the African way of life".

The Hague African Festival is open to all residents of The Hague. The festival hosts an African Market with dozens of market stalls, and an African Village where ongoing presentations, discussions and performances take place.

Venue

Previously hosted at Zuiderpark in The Hague, the festival was moved to the centre of the city to make it more accessible to the audiences. For this reason, the 2012 edition was themed, "Africa in the City".
