Contents

The Dunes

The Dunes, the largest area, consists of sand jumps, trails through pine scrub, and a small pond. It is now inaccessible to vehicles, as a fence was placed around it and cattle have been placed in The Dunes.

Grassy Dunes

Grassy Dunes, located just south of The Dunes, is mainly a small grass plain, but contains many pine trees as well. It is very close to a residential neighborhood, and contains no jumps. There are two entrances along Locks Road.

Dunes East

Dunes East is a narrow sandy trail beginning in heavily forested area and ending in a swamp, close to a seasonal stream.

Turnpike Dunes

Accessed with difficulty across a muddy swamp, Turnpike Dunes is a sandy open area located next to Phipps Park. Many gopher tortoises inhabit the location. It is named for its proximity to Florida's Turnpike.

Venetian Dunes

At the site of a failed planned community named Venetian Village, this Dunes area consists of two roads and two ponds. There are no trees in the area. It is accessible by a steep hill near a trailer park.
