The Council on Pakistan Relations is an American 501(c)(4) non-profit organization advocacy group that promotes improved relations between the U.S. and Pakistan. The Council has been active on a number of fronts, including helping to organize humanitarian relief efforts in response to the 2010 monsoon floods that devastated Pakistan. The Council has urged the Obama Administration and Congress to significantly increase international efforts in response to the flooding. The Chairman of the Council on Pakistan Relations is Ashraf Qazi who has called on Washington to focus its humanitarian assistance in Pakistan on large-scale infrastructure projects to improve U.S.-Pakistan relations and improve America's standing in that country.
