The Business is an independent music store in Anacortes, Washington, USA. Founded by Glen DesJardins, it opened on Commercial Avenue in Anacortes in 1978 as a bookstore, music shop and photography studio. In 1993 Bret Lunsford purchased The Business and ran it until selling it to Liz and Jensen Lovelett in 2004. From October 2008 through February 2016, The Business occupied a former bank on the corner of 4th Street and Commercial Ave. In March 2016, The Business relocated a couple blocks down to 216 Commercial Ave. The store regularly stocks vinyl records, CDs, and audio cassettes, both new and used.
The store maintains a selection of music-related posters and artwork for purchase. The Business frequently holds free shows during store hours with locally and nationally known artists from a wide variety of genres.
