The Big Beat is a television show broadcast on the ABC Network in the 1950s hosted by Alan Freed and subsequently Richard Hayes. The show was cancelled in 1957 when it showed Frankie Lymon, a black man, dancing with a white woman. A local version continued on WNEW-TV New York.
