Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award

Awarded for

Texas League's Regular Season Pitcher of the Year

The Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award is an annual award given to the best pitcher in minor league baseball's Texas League. In 1933, George Darrow won the first ever Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award.

Ten players from the New York/San Francisco Giants Major League Baseball (MLB) organization have won the Pitcher of the Year Award, more than any other, followed by the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers organization (9); the Houston Colt .45's/Astros and St. Louis Cardinals organizations (6); the New York Mets organization (4); the California Angels/Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, St. Louis Browns/Baltimore Orioles, and Texas Rangers organizations (3); the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, and Milwaukee Braves organizations (2); and Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics, and Seattle Mariners organizations (1). Five pitchers won the award on teams that were not affiliated with a major league team.
