Tessa's Troopers is a fundraising team dedicated to raising money and increasing public and political awareness for juvenile diabetes and stem cell research. After being diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age 8, Tessa Wick and her family Douglas Wick, Lucy Fisher, Sarah Wick ,and Julia Wick founded Tessa's Troopers as a walk team for JDRF's annual Walk to Cure Diabetes in 2000. Over the past 14 years, Tessa's Troopers has raised over $6 million for research for type 1 diabetes with the majority of funds being donated to JDRF.
