The tenspine grouper (Hyporthodus exsul) is a species of marine fish, a grouper in the Serranidae family. It is found in the eastern central Pacific (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama), but is a very rare fish of which little information exists. Largest known specimen was 125 cm long.
