Farmer Jane: Women Changing the Way We Eat

Temra Costa is a United States sustainable food advocate and the author of Farmer Jane: Women Changing the Way We Eat. The book celebrates women's involvement in making the U.S. food system more sustainable and includes biographies and interviews with women farmers, educators, chefs and activists.

Costa graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in International Agriculture and minor in Women's Studies before moving in 2003 to California, where she led a state campaign to encourage consumers to buy locally produced food, serving as Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign manager for Community Alliance with Family Farmers. She currently lives outside Sebastopol, California.
