Career

Born in Kaunas, Lithuania, Šležas started his professional career 2006 in Tauragės Bremena-KTU, club of the Lithuanian second division.

Two years later, he signed with BC Lietuvos Rytas, as one of the most promising young players in Lithuania, but he rarely step on the court for the team. He was loaned two years to its junior team BC Perlas.

On 11 September 2011 signed a one year contract with BC Juventus. On 7 October 2011, playing in his second game of the season, suffered a very complicated ankle injury, which kept him out of the line-up for 4 months. After playing with BC Prienai and BC Dzūkija.

Šležas left Lithuania in 2014, when he signed with Austrian Basketball League club Fürstenfeld Panthers. In 2015 he signed with Spanish second division club Cáceres Patrimonio de la Humanidad. On 25 January 2016, he became the MVP of the round 19 after scoring 21 points and grabbing 18 rebounds in the 81–78 win against Cocinas.com.
Two weeks later, Šležas signed with Liga ACB club Bilbao Basket a contract until the end of the 2015–16 season.
In Summer 2016, he signed a one-year contract with Spanish second division team RETAbet.es GBC.
