Tarique Qayumi is an Afghan-Canadian writer, director, producer. He studied at the School of Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia. His thesis screenplay called "The Sacrifice" was optioned by Howe Sound Productions. He completed his Masters of Fine Arts at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He worked in Afghanistan as a writer, director, and producer of Truth Unveiled, The Defenders, and Baghch-e-Simsim (the Afghan version of Sesame Street.) He also co-wrote and directed the feature film called Targeting, which premiered at Dances With Films Festival in 2014. Recently, he was a speaker for TedxKabul.
