Tagkip is one of 65 Barangays of Dagami Municipal in the Province of Leyte, Philippines. It stands to the south-east of Dagami, surrounded by six Barangays called Yapad, Bahay, Sto Domingo, Patoc, Panda and Caanislagan.

People and culture

The people of Tagkip are called Tagkipanon. They are predominantly Waray-speaking. With its vast expanse of grasses, rivers and rice fields, Tagkip is endowed with a wide range of wildlife including Tungaw (a very red tiny dot which is very itchy when it attaches to the human skin).

Tagkip is home to a heady wine of coconut tree called tuba. There are opportunities for water buffalo riding and coconut tree climbing.

Transportation and communications

Land transportation is available year-round. Tacloban City Airport has direct flights to Manila. TV and radio networks broadcast from nearby Tacloban. Internet connection is available through local and national ISPs like Globe broadband.
