Ta-lin Hsu is Chairman and founder of H&Q Asia Pacific, an Asian private equity firm. Hsu joined Hambrecht & Quist Group in 1985 as a general Ppartner and founded H&Q Asia Pacific in 1987 before its independent incorporation in 1990.

In 2008, Hsu was ranked on Forbes' Midas List of Top 35 best dealmakers in high-tech and life sciences. In 2008 he again made the list, ranked 28th.

He earned a B.S. degree in Physics from the National Taiwan University, an M.S. degree in Electro physics from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.

Hsu is currently serving as Chairman of the Board for the Give2Asia Foundation, which strengthens communities throughout Asia by building trusted networks for charitable investment. Hsu also serves on the board of One, Inc. Systems, a cloud-based insurance software company.
