This enzyme catalyses the following chemical reaction
dimethylallyl diphosphate + tRNAFormerly known as tRNA isopentenyltransferase (EC 2.5.1.8), but it is now known that dimethylallyl diphosphate, rather than isopentenyl diphosphate, is the substrate.
