T-24, also known as Ustad, is a tiger who lived in Ranthambore National Park, India. He allegedly killed four humans and was put into captivity. There was no evidence that Ustad killed anyone and hos scats revealed no trace of human flesh.
History
T-23, T-24 and T-25 are the offspring of tigress T-22 and, most likely, the tiger T-20. Born in the Lahpur region, a core area of the National Park, it moved to the Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary and later to Zone 1, adjoining the entrance. Weighing 250 kilograms (550 lb), T-24 was the dominant tiger in the area for many years, overshadowing two others. T-24's mate was tigress T-39, also known as Noor. The pair had three offspring - a tiger, Sultan or T-72, four years old, and two 14-month-olds, as of May 2015 when T-24 was captured illegally - without permit and moved to a zoo near Udaipur. T-24 had a history of severe constipation and once had an infected paw.He was always a bit different from other tigers and would drag his prey to highway to eat it in full public view; he would also not move away from the path seeing humans approaching as other normal tigers do. Despite of all his unconventional behaviours, he was the major draw to Ranthambore Reserve and was loved by wildlife freaks and photographers. Recently he was facing competition from other tigers in his territory due to his advancing age.
