The Sázava Monastery is a Benedictine abbey and a monastery established by Bretislaus I, Duke of Bohemia near Prague around 1032.
Contents
History
The foundation of the monastery was initiated by Procopius of Sázava, a Czech hermit who was in 1203 canonized as saint. The monastery was an important center of Old Church Slavonic literature until 1097.
