The Symphony in A major ("Mannheim No. 2") is a Mannheim symphony by Johann Stamitz, probably written sometime from 1741 to 1746. It might be Stamitz' first symphony. It is formed in the standard 3-movement symphonic scheme of the time:
- Allegro
- Andante
- Presto
This symphony, just like the others by Stamitz, definitely influenced Joseph Haydn and Mozart. It is about 11 minutes long.
