Swarkestone Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Swarkestone just outside Derby. The club was founded in 1898 and has been playing in the Derbyshire Cricket league ever since. The 1st team has been playing in the Derbyshire Premier Cricket League since 2011 and finished 2nd in the club's first ever year in the top flight of the Derbyshire leagues. Players that have played for Swarkestone in recent years include Boyd Rankin, Tom Poynton, Thomas Knight, Bruce Dilks, Luke Thomas, Alex Hughes, Tom Hamilton, Garry Park, Wayne White and Ross Whiteley.
