Professor Susan Rossell is an Australian researcher at Swinburne University of Technology specialising in Neuropsychology and Neuroimaging. Originally from Nottingham, UK; she now resides in Melbourne, Australia. Her research on the neuropsychology of schizophrenia and body dysmorphic disorder is internationally recognised, and includes both basic and clinical applied research. She has performed extensive teaching roles at many universities including Southampton Institute of Higher Education, University of Oxford, Kings College London, Macquarie University, University of Melbourne and Monash University before taking up her current position.

Professor Susan Rossell attended Gedling Comprehensive School and Forest Fields School in Nottingham, UK. She gained a Bachelor of Psychology and Neuroscience (Hons) from the University of Manchester and a Doctor of Philosophy in Cognitive Neuropsychiatry from the Institute of Psychiatry Kings College London; both UK.
Work
Undergraduate teaching: Susan Rossell has taught Cognitive and Abnormal Psychology at Southampton Institute of Higher Education (1997-1998). She taught Psychological disorders, Pyscholingusitics and Neurobiology and the University of Oxford (1998-2000) and supervised Psychology honours research projects at the University of Melbourne (2005-current).
Postgraduate teaching: Susan Rossell was a lecturer on Abnormal Psychology and Neuroimaging at the Institute of Psychiatry, UK (1996-1998). She also supervised Neuroscience laboratory projects for Masters of Science students here; as well as the Doctor of Clinical Psychology (DClin) (1997-1998). She continued her supervising role in Masters of Science (Neuroscience) projects at the University of Oxford (1998-2000). Prof Russell received the International Wellcome Post-doctoral Fellowship to teach at Australian Universities. She consequently trained students in performing the diagnostic interview for psychosis and acted as assistant supervisor for DClin at the Macquarie Centre for Cognitive Science, Macquarie University, Sydney (2000-2002). In 2003, she was a senior lecturer and tutor for the Master of Science (Neuroscience), DClin and MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) at the Institute of Psychiatry (King's College London). She then became the Head of the Cognitive Neuropsychiatry Department at the Mental Health Research Institute of Victoria, Melbourne from 2004-2007. She then became a senior lecturer in Psychological Disorders/Treatments and Neuroimaging at La Trobe University as well as supervising DClin students from 2004-2008. Prof Rossell moved to the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre in 2008 to pursue a professional fellowship. Professor Susan Rossell is currently the Principal of the Neuroimaging Facility within the Brain and Psychological Sciences Research Centre at Swinburne University of Technology as well as senior lecturer and supervisor for the Master of Science (Psychology) at the University of Melbourne (2005-current).
