Surizai Bala is a village and Union Council in Peshawar District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Pashtuns of this village speak the Pashto language and practice Pashtunwali, which is a traditional code of conduct and honour. This society consists of many tribes and clans which were rarely politically united. It is said that Sher Shah Suri on his way to Delhi left some of his family members here, due to which the name of this village became Surizai, its descendants claims that they are from Suri clan of Pushtoons.

According to the Mufti Haasan the Surizai was a jaungle and Sher Shah Suri, on his way to Delhi, left some of his family members here. His Brother and sardar Khan Muhammad Khan was among them and he Established a new Village here, and constructed a house in the name of Khan Khel is now a major Mohalla of Surizai Bala. Another Sardar established a new mohalla in the name of Hassan khel. And another Sardar established a new mohallah in the name of Hashim Khel. Hashim Khel is the heart of overall village because of the village centre.
