Super Invader is a 1979 clone of Space Invaders written by Japanese programmer M. Hata for the Apple II and published by California Pacific Computer Company. It was voted the most popular program of 1978-1980 in a Softalk readers poll. The magazine described the game as the progenitor of the home arcade. Debuting in November 1979, the game sold 20,000 copies by June 1982, tied for seventh on Computer Gaming World's list of top sellers.
