Suneetha Wijesuriya

Suneetha Wijesuriya is the only chess player to have won a gold medal at a World Chess Olympiad for Sri Lanka. She won this medal at the Manila 1992 Chess Olympiad. She has also won the Sri Lankan Women’s National Chess Championship title ten times (1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1995 and 1997).
