Critical reception
Deborah Evans Price, of Billboard magazine reviewed the song unfavorably, questioning why Black would want to "waste his time composing refried Beach Boys music like this?" She concludes the review by saying that it sounds like Black "has been spending a little too much time in the sun."
Music video
The music video features a man (actor Howie Mandel) who is getting off work and driving to the beach to find some pretty women, but every woman he sees is actually a man. The video also features Black singing on that same beach. At the end of the video, there is a woman (Lisa Hartman Black, Black's real-life wife) getting off a boat, and the man tries to go with her, but she goes with Clint instead, who says, "Don't even think about it." The man is then heartbroken when another man (actor Joey Lawrence) jumps in front of him and exclaims, "Whoa!"
Other celebrities making a cameo appearance in the video include Jay Leno, George Kennedy, Dick Clark, Charlie Chase, Leland Sklar, Gerald McRaney and David Hasselhoff.
