Lok Sujag, literally meaning “people’s awareness/awakening,” is a not-for-profit organization striving for a society that respects the rights of all human beings, offers equal economic opportunities and promotes democratic values. Punjab Lok Sujag, registered under Societies Act 1860, has operated since 1997 and has three offices in Lahore, Sahiwal, and Faisalabad. Focus and Diversity Although our project portfolio and work strategies are fairly diverse, Sujag broadly defines political economy as its sphere of work and has undertaken a number of diverse projects. It has worked on many subjects on its own and collaborated with some of the leading civil society organizations for others. The groups ambitions are limitless, practically it has been able to undertake research and advocacy work on gender, agriculture, health, and politics and governance.
