"Suite Sorrow" is a second season episode of the television series Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Plot summary

In this episode, Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the death of a wealthy owner of a magnificent hotel, found naked and drowned - or it so appears - in her bathtub. The only clue appears to be signs of botox usage.

Goren and Eames focus on the victim's unstable adult daughter, who resented her mother's meddling in her love life. Other possible suspects include a makeup artist who dabbles in Botox; the daughter's fiancé, who is obviously attracted to her money now that she inherits the hotel; an opposing hotel owner who wanted to buy the victim's hotel and could do so if she was out of the way; and even the husband, who does not appear affected by the death of his wife.

The investigators find they need one more missing link to make their case, and subsequently look to the dysfunctional family for more clues. But, although memories are skewed by perspective, Goren zeroes in on human vanity and greed as the primary motives.
