Analysis

Christoforos Savva played the role of catalyst in the process of introduction and spread of abstract art in Cyprus and found common points between Cypriot and world art. The creation of "Stimfaliyski birds" came through inspiration of the artist from Greek mythology. Through their destructive activity they turn the desert shore of Stimfaliyski swamp in Arcadia. Hercules managed to kill some of them, and another chase. The painting is one of the most significant in the art of Cyprus.
