Studies in Mutualist Political Economy

Studies in Mutualist Political Economy is a book on political economy published on 2007 by American mutualist anarchist Kevin Carson. In its preface Carson describes this work as "an attempt to revive individualist anarchist political economy, to incorporate the useful developments of the last hundred years, and to make it relevant to the problems of the twenty-first century."

The book is divided in three parts. Part One "attempts to resurrect the classical labor theory of value, to answer the attacks of its marginalist and subjectivist critics, and at the same time to reformulate the theory in a way that both addresses their valid criticisms and incorporates their useful innovations." Part Two "analyzes the origins of capitalism in light of this theoretical apparatus;". Part Three "is a vision of mutualist practice, building both on our own previous theoretical analysis, and on the rich history of anarchist thought."

The Journal of Libertarian Studies devoted an issue (Vol. 20, Num. 1) to a symposium on Carson's book, featuring contributions by Roderick Long, Robert Murphy, George Reisman and Walter Block.
