Stuart Smith (born 8 January 1989) is an English professional footballer. His versatility enabled him to operate in any defensive position, however his most natural position is centre back.
Career
Born in Maidstone, Smith started his career in the youth team at Aston Villa, before joining Boston United for the 2004/05 season. However, he only made 12 first team appearances for Boston, so Smith left the club to join local rivals Grantham Town for the 2005/06 season.
Smith performed consistently well, making a combined 29 league appearances during the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons getting on the scoresheet twice. However, Smith left Grantham Town at the end of the season with his future club unknown.
