Streptococcus zooepidemicus is a species of Streptococcus.

Streptococcus zooepidemicus is a Lancefield group C streptococcus. It is a mucosal commensal and opportunistic pathogen of several animals and humans. It is a clonal ancestor of Streptococcus equi with which it shares greater than 98% DNA homology and many of the virulence factors.
