Stout Risius Ross, Inc. (also known as "SRR") is a global valuation, investment banking, and dispute advisory services firm founded in 1991 and headquartered in Chicago.

History

Stout Risius Ross, Inc. was founded in 1991. In 1997, SRR expanded into investment banking, creating what would become its Investment Banking Group. With the addition of Glenn Sheets in 1998, SRR began its Dispute Advisory & Forensic Services Group.

In 1999, SRR’s Restructuring Group started. The firm opened offices in Cleveland and Chicago in 2000 and 2001 and had a total of 100 employees.

SRR opened the Tysons Corner (McLean, VA) office in 2004 and added ESOP professionals, Bob Socol, Andy Ward, and Scott Levine to form the ESOP Advisory Practice. In 2006, the Restructuring Group was sold. SRR opened its New York office in 2007 and moved its headquarters to Chicago.

The E-Discovery practice was formed in 2009, and in 2011 SRR opened its Los Angeles office.

Stout Risius Ross, Inc. and HFBE Inc. merged on September 1, 2012. HFBE provided valuation and investment banking services to middle-market companies with energy and real estate industry focus. Within this same year, SRR opened offices in Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston.

The Washington, DC office opened in 2013. In the same year, SRR formed global alliances that led to the creation of SRR-Asia, SRR-Europe, and SRR-South America. In 2014, SRR opened offices in Denver and Baltimore after a merger with 20 professionals from Invotex, a Washington, DC based intellectual property services firm. In 2015, SRR has a total of 350 employees.
