Stephen Cutts


Stephen Cutts is the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for the Office of Central Support Services in the Department of Management. He was appointed to this position by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on 3 April 2013.

Biography

After graduating from INSEAD with an Executive MBA and a degree in English literature from the University of Keele, Cutts worked at the INSEAD Business School and served as its Executive Director, before joining the Commonwealth Secretariat in 2008.

Cutts served first as Director of Strategic Planning and Evaluation at the Commonwealth Secretariat, and then as Commonwealth Assistant Secretary-General for Corporate Affairs. In this position, he was in charge of the administration, finance, strategic planning and human resources matters.

Before this, Stephen served in a series of progressively more senior positions in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD between 1995 and 2007) and was Chef de Cabinet/Chief of Staff to Secretary-General Donald J. Johnston from 2005 until the end of his tenure in 2006.
