Stenbolone (INN), also known as 2-methyl-4,5α-dihydro-δ1-testosterone, is a synthetic androgenic-anabolic steroid (AAS) of the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) group. It is not orally active and is used as the ester prodrug stenbolone acetate (USAN) (brand names Anatrofin, Stenobolone) via depot intramuscular injection. Stenbolone is closely related structurally to 1-testosterone (δ1-DHT), methylstenbolone (17α-methylstenbolone), and drostanolone (2-methyl-DHT).
