Scope and jurisdiction
The House State Properties Committee is responsible for oversight of Georgia's Department of Corrections, to ensure it protects and serves the public and is conducted as a professional organization that manages offenders and helps to provide a safe and secure environment for the citizens of Georgia. The committee also oversees the Georgia Building Authority which manages facilities for all state agencies. The committee also has jurisdiction over "legislation concerning pardons and paroles".
