Aristocratic Thane Kyrell and villager Ciena Ree reside on the Outer Rim planet of Jelucan, where the two bond over their shared love for flying and interest in enrolling at the Imperial Academy to become TIE fighter pilots. However, as the Galactic Empire tightens its stranglehold on Jelucan, the pair find themselves disillusioned by the oppressive actions of their Imperial overlords. As a result, Thane seeks out the fledgling Rebel Alliance, causing a dilemma within Ciena, as she still has feelings of loyalty for the Galactic Empire.
