"Stad i ljus" ("Unchained Light") is a ballad, which was the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1988 winning song and entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 1988, where it finished 12th. The song was written by Py Bäckman performed by Tommy Körberg. Correct translation from the Swedish title to English would be "town in light".
The song entered the 1st place on the Swedish hitlist Svensktoppen on 17 April 1988. Stad i ljus was also released as a single in 1988. It peaked at #8 at the Swedish singles chart.
At first, it was thought that Jan Malmsjö would sing this song.
In relation to Swedish Melodifestivalen 2010, Timo Räisänen performed the song.
