Contents

History

The school was founded in 1956 in the city of Indore, India near Sat Prachar Press as the boys' section of St. Raphael's Higher Secondary School. Sister Ann was the first principal and Father J. Partch was the first person in charge of the school. In 1963, the boys' section was separated from St. Raphael's under Fr. Wilhelm J. Lenzen (a German by birth), and the school continues to be a separate entity. In 1975 the secondary section was separated and shifted to the new campus on the Boundary Road.

In 1982 the school was visited by Mother Teresa.

Heavenly Patron

The Heavenly Patron of the school is Saint Paul, the Apostle. Being a Jew by birth, Paul spent his time and energy in persecuting the Christians of his time until he encountered Lord Jesus Christ himself.Thereafter, he was an ardent follower of the Lord. He was known for his uncompromising determination and sense of commitment.

Affiliation

The school was affiliated to the Madhya Pradesh State Education Board, but 1996 it affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education.

Emblem and motto

Motto: "Run then, for Victory".

Emblem:

  • The Cogwheel is part of the emblem of Indore City. The wheat stalks are a symbol of Madhya Pradesh, but it also confirms the theme of the emblem that a good harvest will be the reward for those who are prepared to work hard. All other symbols and motto are taken from Saint Paul, the heavenly patron of the school.
  • Sword. In 67 A.D., Saint Paul chose to die by it rather than deny his God.
  • Quill. When Saint Paul could not travel and teach, he wrote letters, fourteen of those documents we have today. The quill, the pen in these days, is a symbol of the school's studies.
  • The Golden Crown symbolizes Saint Paul's imperishable crown.
  • Student houses

There are four houses in the school - Blue, Green, Red and Yellow.

Students are allotted one of the four houses randomly and they remain a part of the house till they pass out of the school. The division of houses is done to encourage competition amongst the students, who compete in extra-curricular events.

For any inter-house competition, every house sends three teams, one each for Juniors, Inters and Seniors group. The Junior group comprises VIth and VIIth standard, Inters have VIIIth and IXth, while the Senior group has Xth, XIth and XIIth standard boys.
